During my travels I was able to visit some of the most famous and recognisable cities in the Middle East, Asia and Australasia. I wanted to capture these urban environments in a creative, abstract and unique way providing new perspectives to these heavily documented locations. Within this series I also wanted to document the locals in their ever changing urban environment.

Brutal Beograd
Beograd is the capital of Serbia and former Yugoslavia. This city undertook a dramatic architectural change in the mid to late 20th century due to a new Socialist regime, led by Joseph Broz Tito. Brutal Beograd is a photographic documentation of Beograd’s (Belgrade's) most outlandish Brutalist architecture. The stills have been split into two sections. Straight images and double exposures. Below is the first section which is called The architectural study of Beograd’s Brutalism.

Reinventing Beograds Brutalism
Even though the majority of Beograd's Brutalism was built over 50 years ago in the 20th century, it still looks and feels futuristic today. I decided to reinvent Beograd's brutalist buildings through multiple exposed photographs. I wanted to create new unique designs that are futuristic for the 21st century. I wanted to push the boundaries of what Brutalism is and how different artistic approaches allow it to be consumed differently. These multiple exposures create new perspectives that no one has seen before, forcing the viewer to think twice about what they are looking at and working out how it was created. This close attention to details leads the viewers to focus on different shapes, form and textures within each image.
